Planet Art - Wonders - Abstract Art with Margie Jervis (Adults)

The 7 wonders of the natural world will be our inspiration to the keys of abstract art.  Margie Jervis, Creative Cauldron's Scene and Costume Designer,  is your guide as we zoom travel and explore the visual qualities of our amazing world.  With Margie's follow along demonstrations and weekly projects in painting and drawing, you will learn concepts in abstract composition, creating with color, contrast and form.  This is a fun and open spirited class!
Class is for all levels- no experience is required.  Margie encourages a community of art explorers, sharing discoveries throughout the session. 

Suggested supplies: 
White printer paper 8.5x11,  Canson XL multimedia paper 11x14, Black sharpie permanent marker, watercolor set (Paul Rubens student set of 24 colors) ,  set of basic acrylic paints, white glue, tape,  scissors​

Comics & Cartooning 101 (Ages 6 - 8)

​If your kiddo has always loved reading comic books, graphic novels, or the Sunday funnies and has always wanted to make some of their own, this is the class for them! Students will be guided through the creation of dynamic characters and shown how to throw such a character into their own stories in their own handmade comics. Whether completely new to comics and cartooning or a diehard fan, by the end of this class they'll be a comics-making machine!

Comics-plosion! (Ages 6 - 8)

Whether your favorite form of comics is graphic novels, comic strips, webcomics, or anything in between, if you want to start making of any of those than this is the class for you! In this class, students will be lead through the in's and out's of dynamic character design, visually plotting out stories via thumbnails, and the creation and reproduction of mini-comics and comics of all sizes. Whether you're a comics expert or total neophyte, you'll have a whole new toolset when you're through with this class!

Imaginary World Building (Ages 9 - 12)

If your child is one of those creative kiddos who needs no instructions to know how to imagine, this is the class for them! In this class, your child will set to the task of creating their own imaginary land from scratch, complete with flags, maps, buildings, flora, fauna, etc. Their magical world will be brought to life through illustration, mask and model building, and lots of paper crafting. By the end of this class they'll have an entire made up world they know like the back of their hand!
