Susan Derry's award-winning solo show Ingenue You When returns in a bold new incarnation. Part memoir, part concert, and part love letter to the beautifully unpredictable life of a working actor, Susan explores what it means to stop chasing an idealized version of yourself and instead find the courage to be fully present in your own life.
About Cabaret Artist-In-Residence Susan Derry
Susan Derry is a dynamic performer known for her radiant soprano and emotionally compelling presence. She has graced stages on Broadway, in Europe, and across the DC region. Offstage, she dedicates her time to mentoring the next generation of performers as a voice instructor at American University. Her solo shows center on honest storytelling and songs that reflect life's unexpected twists and deep joys, brightening any venue with her signature mix of vulnerability and strength. “Creativity, to me, is an act of compassion—and cabaret is my favorite way to express it,” shared Derry. “I love that songs can tell us the story of who we are as humans. Cabaret helps us feel seen, and it reminds us that we’re not really so different from one another. You never know what someone might need to hear, or what you might be able to offer, and that exchange of
