Three for a Song presents "Cocktails for Three, Parts 1 & 2"
July 1 & 2 at 8PM The popular retro-trio are back to share a mixture of this and that – a little Harold Arlen, a little Fats Waller, and lots of laughs. Arrive in your best Jazz Age Attire or Sophisticated 30s ensemble, or just come as you are and have a night to remember. Iyona Blake (Creative Cauldron’s Caroline, or Change, Once On This Island, Love As We See It); Doug Bowles (internationally featured Tenor, pianist and swing band leader); and Alex Hassan (World renowned novelty pianist) are back to stir the Cauldron once again. Featured on NPR’S “All Things Considered” and BBC INTERNATIONAL, this trio will wow you with authentic performances of classic tunes that are as fresh as ever. |
Nora Palka presents, "Live Your Truth: A Cabaret"
July 8 & 9 at 8PM Seen throughout DC’s theatre and cabaret community and known for outlandish social media presence, Nora Palka returns to Creative Cauldron’s Summer Cabaret Series with some brand new original music. Join Nora and friends for a night of wonderment, as she tells some of the stories of her life through song. Also, expect some catchy ukulele covers and show tune favorites. |
Katie McManus presents "The Divine Miss McM"
July 15 & 16 at 8PM DC Theatre veteran Katie McManus joins us for a tribute performance to the original showgirl: Bette Midler. From Bette's early days in the bathhouses of New York all the way to Hollywood and back to Broadway, McManus will sing us through the the Divine Miss M's decades-long career. With over 30 albums, 35 movies, 4 Golden Globes, 3 Emmys, 3 Grammys, and dozens of nominations, it's sure to be divine. |
Dani Stoller presents "Awkward: A Musical Ode to the Funny Best Friend"
July 22 & 23 at 8PM Local cabaret favorite and Helen Hayes Award-Nominee Dani Stoller has performed at Signature, Keegan, 1st Stage and the Kennedy Center. Now, she returns to The Cauldron for a night of heartfelt songs paying homage to the funny, awkward, most-likely-bespectacled, never-gets-the-guy-but-is-somehow-always-smiling, awkward girl. |
Jade Jones presents "Jazzed and Jaded"
July 29 & 30 8PM Jade Jones is a long-time performer with DC’s own La-Ti-Do, the Signature Idol of Signature’s 25th Anniversary Open House, and a Helen Hayes Awards-Nominee for her performance in Creative Cauldron’s Once On This Island. She now presents “Jazzed and Jaded”, a soulful journey through love, heartbreak and everything in between. |
Sandy Bainum is Ever Blondeward
August 5 & 6 at 8PM The beautiful, bubbly, golden-haired Ms. Sandy Bainum will pay musical homage to a bevy of fellow blondes; some broads, some bombshells and a delicious diva or two. Her brand new show, entitled Ever Blondeward, is a celebration of fair-haired singers of all genres and eras. Sandy will perform a wide range of terrific songs, originally sung by the likes of movie and theater legends Betty Hutton, Judy Holliday, Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day, June Allyson, Barbara Cook and the blonde that all gentlemen preferred, Miss Marilyn Monroe. Ever Blondeward is a joyful evening, one that will remind us all of our very favorite blonde women of song, including, of course, Ms. Sandy Bainum, who represents all the blondes who came (and sang) before her. Sandy will be joined onstage by her award-winning musical director Lanny Meyers. Ever Blondeward was directed by the beautiful (brunette) cabaret icon, Ms. Andrea Marcovicci. |

Matt Conner & Stephen Gregory Smith present "Dreamland"
August 19 & 20 at 8PM This new revue will journey through Matt and Stephen’s Songbook celebrating 10 years of music at Creative Cauldron. Revisit these original favorites and travel from Sleepy Hollow to Neverland and back to the House of Bly (Turn of the Screw). Sam Ludwig presents “Sam and the Amazing Quasi-Interesting Dream Date, -or- A Brief Interview with a Hideous Musicals Fan”
August 26 & 27 at 8PM Sam Ludwig, self-described musical theatre 'expert', discourses on his favorite subject to an unseen woman who has taken him back to her place after a date. As his lecture progresses it becomes clear that this pair have very different conceptions of a 'perfect evening'. Will his date's romantic interest in him outlast his seemingly endless diatribe on “The quintessentially American art form?” Watch and find out. |
Susan Derry and the National Broadway Chorus present "And There Was Music"
September 10 & 17 at 8PM Join Susan Derry and the National Broadway Chorus for an evening in musical theatre heaven as a Creative Cauldron favorite shares the stage with DC's busiest new vocal ensemble, The National Broadway Chorus!
