The Great One-Man Commedia Epic

Originally commission in 2004 for Italy's 20th Annual Stage Internazionale, actor/writer/director Mathew R. Wilson single-handedly brings to life the entire cast of 12 characters drawn from the historical Commedia dell'Arte. The story is the classic story of Italian Renaissance comedy: Young lovers have their lives thrown into chaos as their wedding plans are threatened by squabbling fathers, boasting war heroes, and a host of well-meaning but dim-witted servants. The entire town is drawn to the brink of tragedy before love prevails, normalcy is restored, and comedy triumphs.
The one-man show is a treat for avant-garde theater fans, scholars of dramatic history, and the fun-loving child in all of us, this remarkable event is sure to please anyone who wants to see how modern comedy began 500 years ago as well as those who are looking for laughs today!

Faction of Fools is bringing their Helen Hayes Award Recommended show to Creative Cauldron for a delightful and unparalleled show. The classic story of two young lovers divided by a family feud, borrows heavily from the tradition of Italian comedy. This high-octane version, featuring five actors in a one-hour, brings physical spectacularity to Shakespeare's poetry and highlights tragedy by juxtaposing it with humor.

Italian Village Dance Workshop
February 12th at 4:00pm
Giving a brief overview of traditional music and dance from small villages throughout Italy, Celest DiPietropaolo, Marie DiCocco and AnnaMaria Rosina DiPietropaolo will play traditional Italian music and teach the audience several dances. In the spirit of the Carnival season, they will finish with a carnival procession, making their performance one for the memory books!
